Expanding Access to Ethical, High-Quality Clinical Trials

CREA-N was founded in 2020 with a mission to create a robust regional and national footprint of diverse research sites and experienced investigators. Our goal is to make clinical trials accessible across socioeconomic, geographic, and cultural boundaries, closing the gap in global health representation.

Our operations began in 2019 with a Phase III cardiovascular trial, quickly followed by the establishment of our Machakos site in 2020. Today, we stand as a female-led pioneer in the African clinical landscape, advancing tailored research that addresses local health needs with international standards of excellence.

Answering the Urgent Need for Local Research

Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for 25% of the world's disease burden, yet only 4% of clinical trials are conducted in the region.

The lack of participation in global clinical research is driven by significant gaps in trial infrastructure, regulatory complexity, and a shortage of trained research professionals. This exclusion means medical solutions are often developed without sufficient data from diverse African populations.

CREA-N is closing this gap by establishing an integrated network of research-ready sites. We harmonize SOPs, strengthen regulatory pathways, and build local site capacity, ensuring that high-quality, ethical clinical trials become a standard across the region.
